Trial and Error

So I am trying to determine if I like to download with photobucket or through blogger. Photobucket is faster but then my post (ramblings) has to be separate (unless someone wiser than me knows how to combine the two). Sorry the postings are all jumbled but at least I got them up!!! More to follow soon!

LOOK!!

So we finally got a grill!! We missed having one more than we thought we would. So Kevin got it put together on Sat and we grilled Sat, Sun & Mon, and more than likely we will keep on grilling this whole week (providing the weather allows). Last night we did these Turkey Mignon things that we found at Sam's and fresh grilled corn. It was so amazing!! I LOVE MY GRILL!!! We ate outside, after the kids helped wash the table (icky spring grime) and it was fun (even with the crazy wind). They were so excited. Gavin and Olivia both ate 2 ears each and would have eaten more had I not said no!!
I LOVE SUMMER!!!

Kids Track Meet

So on May 19th Payton had a Kids Track meet after school. We had known about this for about a month and he was NOT going to do it. But after the great weekend in Fargo, he decided to participate. He ran the 50, 100 & 200m runs and placed 8th in the 100 and 3 in the 200. We are very proud of him, as you can imagine!!

This is the 200m dash.

Fargo Marathon

So I came in 1768. Crazy. I was 2 minutes slower than my normal time but not really upset about it due to the massive number of people. For the first mile I was just trying to get on the road. I was up and down off the curb and around the parked cars and walkers for what seemed like half the race. No complaints though. It was nearly 70 and the wind was only slight. It really picked up in the afternoon and a few of the 1/2 and full marathoners I talked to say it made the end so hard. The kids run was EXTREMELY windy. Kevin ran with Payton and he ran the whole way and even said it was fun at the end (Payton). He didn't really want to run until the night before when Gavin and Olivia got their bags and shirts. Gavin had been waiting for a month for the run. Every weekend he would ask if it was time for his run. Finally it was. There were over 2000 kids for the kids run which made it slightly chaotic but overall it was fine. I had Olivia and Gavin for the U4 run and was fine until Gavin decided he was going to run all out. (picture me with Olivia on my back running to catch gavin in a sea of orange shirts. Very comical.) But in the end he found Kevin and waited for me to follow in. We swam at the hotel pool and got haircuts for the boys (you can tell the before and after pics if you look closley!) and ate at Olive Garden (which seems to be a favorite of many people).

Can't wait to see you all!! Keep running!

70 degrees

So it is official. We are the ones from Ak that think it is summer when the weather gets above 60. Gavin wanted the pool up when it was just 60 and today it hit 70 so what do you think we did? Got out the sprinkler. The kids were crazy running around outside (too cold for me) in the sprinkler and loving it! Olivia wasn't too crazy about the cold water but wore her water clothes and watched from the side. I got some video that I will post later this weekend. Tomorrow we head down to Fargo for the 5k on Sat. I am running with my partner Anna and Kevin and Jake (Anna's boyfriend) and the kids are walking. Should be fun. I will take some pictures and try to post them on Sunday or Monday. (Along with all my other good intentions). Only one more week of school and Payton is so excited. I guess I am too but it just solidifies my fear that he is growing up way too fast. Okay I have to get to bed!!!

Well hello there. I haven't blogged in a while mainly because I don't really think anything blog worthy has occured. It has been consistantly normal (well normal is always relative) around here and truly I am not complaining. Olivia had taken to using her body as an art canvas (even washable markers last more than a day) and Gavin is generally pleased that the weather has consistantly in the 50's. (Truth be told so am I) We have been outside whenever we can be for the last 3 weeks. On our bikes, at the park, on the path. It is so great. We have started our count down to our trip up north...23 days until we head to Billings, MT to fly out. WOOHOO!!! I am so excited. I am a little nervous about the 1/2 marathon on the 21st but my goal is just to finish. Any other takers on the challenge???? Jen??? Well I will try to get some pictures posted here this weekend. Miss you all and can't wait to see you!!
